Kim Chun-bae, an independence activist from Samrye, Wanju-gun, Jeollabuk-do, has been a little known figure. However, the so-called "Bukcheong Pistol Incident" he implemented in 1934 was a special independence movement that was selected as the "Top 10 News of the Year" at the Dong-A Ilbo in that year. This article examined Kim Chun-bae's life divided into family migration history (diaspora) and independence movement participation period. It can be said that Kim Chunbae's participation in the independence movement stems from family history. As a family of devout Christianity, his family moved to Manchuria, planning a new migrant community, leaving their lives in Korea behind. Kim Chun-bae, who received a strong national education, was arrested by the Imperial Japanese Police while conducting a military fundraising campaign at the Justice Ministry and lived in prison for five years. After that, without being frustrated, he carried out "the takeover of the armory of Bukcheong Police Station" again. In the course of Kim Chun-bae's arrest and trial, the Governor-General of Korea also created public opinion to drive the legitimate actions of independence activists into shameless acts. Undaunted by this insulting attitude of Japanese imperialism, Kim Chun-bae was sentenced to life imprisonment and ended his life in prison. I hope it will be a small grain of wheat that summons a little-known independence activist to the surface of history.
